What about student email addresses?

If your students are too young to have their own email address or if your district does not allow students to use personal email addresses, VoiceThread provides a way to create a "fake" or "virtual" email address for students. Any of the VoiceThread K-12 Manager products for use in the Classroom, School, or District will allow you to create student accounts without providing a real email address.

By default, VoiceThread will create a "virtual" email address, or username, that is based on the custom domain that you have chosen for your Organization (e.g. student@myclass.ed.voicethread.com). If your students use usernames, you should have them bookmark your custom domain.

Whenever they sign into VoiceThread from your custom domain, they will only need to enter the first part of their email address into the Email field, and VoiceThread will automatically fill in the rest. For example, if a student's "fake" email address is student@myclass.ed.voicethread.com, he will only need to enter "student" into the Email field.
